Singlefile's Frankland River Shiraz takes top prize in Ray Jordan's Top 100 Reds 2024
Singlefile are delighted to share with you that our 2023 Single Vineyard Frankland River Shiraz was awarded 'Best of the Best' in Ray Jordan's annual compilation of the year's Top 100 Red Wines.
"It took a nanosecond to know that this fabulous wine would be in the mix for the wine of the tasting. From the time I brought the glass to my nose to the final lick of the lips, this wine was wonderful every step of the way," said Ray.
"Singlefile has soared to the very top of WA’s best wine producers and this wine, along with others in the tasting, is a compelling testament to what they are doing. Singlefile has become, in the blink of an eye, one of the most popular wine producers in Western Australia."
With a vast number of excellent wines submitted from across Australia, Ray commented that the 2024 Top 100 tasting was as good as any he has ever conducted. To have this wine held in such high regard amongst other quality producers across Australia means a great deal to us, and is a wonderful reflection of the hard work of our winemaking team. Ray noted in last year's tasting that the Frankland River Shiraz was "right in the mix in the battle for top honours", speaking to the consistency and calibre of this wine, vintage after vintage.
With over forty years industry experience, Ray is one of Western Australia's most respected wine journalists, and his highly anticipated annual line-up also included Singlefile's 2023 Single Vineyard Frankland River Grenache and 2023 Single Vineyard Mount Barker Pinot Noir.

Stunning. It took a nanosecond to know that this fabulous wine would be in the mix for the wine of the tasting. From the time I brought the glass to my nose to the final lick of the lips, this wine was wonderful every step of the way. Perfumed spicy plummy notes with a little raspberry confectionary nuance. The palate is sublime with seamless integration of oak and tannin. Singlefile has soared to the very top of WA’s best wine producers and this wine, along with others in the tasting, is a compelling testament to what they are doing. Singlefile has become, in the blink of an eye, one of the most popular wine producers in Western Australia.

2023 Singlefile Single Vineyard Frankland River Grenache
95 points
This has quickly become one of my favourite grenaches from anywhere in Australia. It comes from the Riversdale vineyard in Frankland, so its pedigree is impeccable. You’ll find perfumed, red berry aromas, with a little rose petal and earthy spicy nuances. It has a brilliant and bright medium bodied palate that delivers succulent fruit and balancing savoury notes. The tannins and light oak treatment combine to focus a very long finish.

2023 Singlefile Single Vineyard Mount Barker Pinot Noir

This is a really impressive pinot from Mount Barker. It has a nice point of difference with the highly aromatic Porongurups pinot. This wine is scented by aromas of cherry and space, with a trace of raspberry confection. The palate is firmly held with fine tannin and a light touch of oak.
