VINEYARD & WINEMAKING
Frankland River is arguably the premier shiraz growing sub-region of Western Australia and is recognised for its distinctive black fruit and black pepper characters. Shiraz from the Riversdale vineyard, planted in 1997 and one of the few north-facing sites, delivers the quintessential characteristics expected of fine Frankland River shiraz fruit.
The winter months saw above average rainfall with spring being reasonably dry. Summer was mild and dry with good, even temperatures. This provided excellent growing conditions which resulted in exceptional quality juicy, and a fresh and vibrant shiraz.
After picking and sorting, fermentation took place in closed fermenters, and maceration was gentle lasting fifteen days with minimal pump-over interventions. The wine was then aged in medium toast French oak barriques for eleven months. Post bottling, this wine was aged further to allow to settle, integrate and develop prior to release.
THE WINE
This wine displays vibrant blackberries, currants, and subtle spicy aromas. The palate displays flavours of dark fruits, spice and savouriness which persist through to a long, dry finish. It is a medium bodied, cool climate style shiraz of both power and complexity, with silky tannins and a refined delicacy. A shiraz to be enjoyed with fine food and friends.

Product Reviews
The fruit 🍇 is from the Riversdale vineyard in the Franklin River sub-region of the Great Southern GI. The vineyard was planted in 1997.
Ageing took place in French 🇫🇷 oak barrique for eleven month, with further ageing in bottle prior to release.
Medium purple colour. The nose is alluring, with aromas of fruit compote, cherries 🍒, cinnamon, and cardamom. There is tremendous depth and elegance on the palate. The flavours fan out with great energy. Medium bodied with velvety tannins adding lovely texture. It displays flavours of red plums, blueberries 🫐, dark cherries 🍒, and white pepper. The finish is elongated. Complex wine that will richly reward 10-20 years ageing. More Rhone in style and structure than warm climate Australian Shiraz.
A superb wine 🍷.
