Mount Barker
Allow us to introduce you to the grandfather of the Great Southern – Mount Barker. It sits proudly at the heart of the region, and wears a few firsts on its sleeve. Mount Barker is the first sub-region to be declared in Australia. It is also the location of the first vines to be planted in the Great Southern region. Its landscape swells high and low across open grazing country, with vineyards spread randomly over the square hold it makes in the middle of the region.
Singlefile produces a Riesling from Mount Barker fruit.
