VINEYARD & WINEMAKING

The Frankland River sub-region of the Great Southern is a premier red wine growing area of Western Australia. The plantings of grenache vines in the region are sparse and improving quickly as the vines age. The fruit for this wine is from the Riversdale Vineyard which, due to its north facing orientation and soil profile, delivers exceptionally high-quality fruit.

After picking and sorting the grenache, fermentation took place in a small open fermenter, and maceration was gentle, lasting fourteen days with minimal intervention. The wine was then aged in low toast French oak barriques for ten months. The wine was bottled in February 2024. It was then aged in bottle prior to release.

THE WINE

This grenache subtly requests your attention by drawing you to its perfumed red berry, cranberry-like, aromatics. It also shows delicate secondary aromas of spices, and earthy and herbal undertones which will continue to develop with further bottle aging.

The medium bodied palate showcases a delicate embrace of fine-grained tannins, typical of grenache, noticeable from the outset. Transitioning smoothly, the wine offers a voluptuous mouthfeel revealing intricate savoury notes and the return of those fine tannins in the long, dry finish. This wine is ideally savoured alongside good food.

A lovely light red, that would be perfect on a warm summer day. It would pair well with a cheese platter. It tastes of plum and cherries.

This wine is simply beautiful. Medium bodied, well balanced, stunning aroma and colour. It’s easily my favourite red at the moment. Perfect for a movie night in with some truffle cheese and dark chocolate!

This Grenache offers a delightful medley of flavors, from the subtle floral notes of rose and earthy lemongrass to the vibrant burst of berries and a hint of mild red pepper. The balsamic undertones and plum accents add depth, complemented by soft tannins that contribute to its mellow and approachable profile. The cranberry and raspberry hues mirror its fresh and light character, creating a punchy yet easy-drinking experience. Versatile enough to pair with lamb, charcuterie, or chicken, this Grenache embodies a harmonious balance that makes it very enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed!

I really enjoyed this wine. It had a deliciously juicy and velvety mouthfeel. It has a delicious balance of spice and berry fruits. We enjoyed this with a woodfired pizza and it was a match made in heaven. I will be buying this one again to enjoy when the weather cools down a little!

Another beautiful wine produced by the Singlefile team! A delicious, smooth and well-balanced Grenache that was enjoyed with great food and company. With every sip the flavour profile developed, and the beautiful lingering taste of berries and spice left us all wanting more. This will absolutely be getting purchased again.

I could have just enjoyed the nose on this wine all day- beautifully aromatic. Medium bodied but coats the mouth well, yielding a lovely long finish. Would benefit from a touch longer in the cellar if you have the self control- clearly I didn't! Cheers

Big bold Grenache that smelled amazing in the glass and coated the palate. Paired with slow cooked lamb and shared with friends at a dinner party. Big winner and great value at $40!

Not normally a variety of red I would pick, this grenache instantly smells of berries, looks beautifully ruby red as poured into a glass and had good tannins. It starts fruity and turns into a slight spice towards the back of the pallet. The finish is quite dry. All up a lovely drop, but could benefit with cellaring for a period.
