At Singlefile, we endeavour to create unique and memorable experiences that showcase the best of the Great Southern. One of our popular Cellar Door experiences, the Singlefile Chardonnay Gin Tasting and Signature Cocktail Creation shines a spotlight on our collaboration with award-winning distillery, Spirit of Little Things (SoLT), and invites guests to test their hand at mixology.
Born out of a mutual respect and love of quality beverages, the end result of our collaboration with SoLT is a gin unlike any other. By combining our estate-grown chardonnay grapes with native Australian and traditional botanicals from SoLT’s distillery, we have created a spirit that pays homage to both tradition and innovation while embodying the best the Great Southern has to offer.
“We had been considering creating a gin for some time and had even started cultivating a botanical garden at the Singlefile Cellar Door. When Tom, a long-standing Singlefile Wine Club member and Head Distiller with Spirit of Little Things, expressed interest in making a gin enriched with our chardonnay grapes, we felt the timing was perfect to explore a collaboration,” Pat recalls.
The Art of Gin Tasting
Our Gin Tasting and Signature Cocktail experience celebrates the artistry and science behind mixology. To begin, enjoy a self-guided tasting where you can explore the gin in its purest form. Sip it neat and appreciate the distinct aromas of fresh chardonnay intertwined with subtle Australian botanicals.
Next, it’s time to personalise your drink as you experiment with garnishes and various flavour elements. Using citrus and botanicals, many of which are hand-harvested from Singlefile’s own orchards, you can play with different combinations to create a tasting experience that suits your preferences and enhances the drink’s unique character.
Your Signature G&T
The experience continues as you learn the art and science behind mixing the perfect gin and tonic. Delve into a brief history of this classic cocktail and gain tips on balancing flavours to achieve a drink that’s both refreshing and nuanced.
You’ll then be able to craft your own G&T to enjoy in the relaxed atmosphere of our Cellar Door, complete with a recipe card to recreate your custom cocktail at home.
